Update from moms appt....

Update from yesterday....
Mom took a test that measures what she sees...she sees a little less than half of what a normal person sees.  The graph below shows the results....normal vision goes between 30 and 40...moms average is in the teens.

Also...tests reveal the signal going from retina to brain is poor.

The swelling has gone down since July...that's a plus!!!

She also has cateract that can be taken off and improve her vision too.  Might not be slit, but everything little but will be a benefit.  

She goes back for a recheck in 3 months.   

Ohhh....mom did the genetic testing yesterday, the results from the bloodwork will be back in about 8 weeks.  Depending on the gene, gene therapy may be used, and it could benefit her with a reversal or at least put the progression of vision loss in remission.  

And since mom has severe hearing loss too, they said the vision problem and hearing loss are 100% related and it's called ushers syndrom.  

So that's where we are standing.
